Howard Reveals Ronaldo Secrets

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Tim Howard has given an insight into the daily life of Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo. He says that Ronaldo has not achieved greatness by being lazy, but it has come to him as a result of incredible hard work. Ronaldo is known as a player with a liking for attention and celebrity status. However, there is more to him than just good looks according to Howard. Currently regarded as the best player in the world, Ronaldo recently received his second FIFA Ballon d’Or award.

Howard played with him for a period of five years from 2003 to 2007 at Manchester United. During this time, he said that Ronaldo was incredibly aiming towards making him better by spending hours on the training pitch and eating the right food. He says that the astonishing tricks that appear to be so easy for the 29-year-old has come as a result of living with the ball all the time. Tim Howard’s United States team will be coming up against Portugal in the second group match of the World Cup. Howard will be hoping to stop Ronaldo from opening his World Cup 2014 account.

Ronaldo has been suffering from any injury in recent weeks, but he played the full 90 minutes against Germany in the 4-0 humiliation. “From day one he had the flash and the flare but there was always something there and his work ethic was second to none, it really was. That is the one thing I tell everyone who is around him. Everyone sees the underwear commercials, the girlfriends and the cars but, trust me, his work ethic is incredible. On the ball, in the gym, eating the right food. You know, I just remember every day after training it was always the same,” said Howard about Ronaldo.
